In Burgundy Franche Comté, the Morvan is the kingdom of cycling. Whether you are an occasional or confirmed practitioner, you can indulge in your leisure according to your desires. Whether you ride a road bike, VTC or mountain bike, there will always be a route that will satisfy you and that will make you discover one of the many facets of the landscapes of Nièvre and Morvan.
For lovers of bucolic hikes, there is the Nivernais canal and the greenway. For those who want to practice VTC or mountain biking, the Morvan Regional Natural Park has nearly 2,300 kilometers of marked trails.
Departing from around twenty municipalities, the Morvan is the largest VTT-FFC site in France. The routes are marked to FFC standards. There are more than 100 circuits ranging from 4 to 50 km. Depending on your level, they are accessible to beginners as well as to the most experienced among you.
So they offer you all the elements for mountain biking. Whether rolling or technical paths and single-tracks, the configuration of the Morvan massif offers you elevation changes for all tastes and difficulties. You can sometimes discover forests and bocages, sometimes cross or walk along rivers and streams, reach the tourist sites of Bibracte, or Vézelay...
You build your walks!
Another course which is: THE GRANDE TRAVERSEE DU MORVAN (GTM). The north route of the GTM is open: 98 km to connect Avallon to Saulieu via Quarré les Tombes.
Washing stations line the route. In the end, the GTM will cover around 350 km and reach Autun via the Great Lakes of Morvan, Camping Carpodrome, Etang de la Fougeraie and Mont Beuvray.
The particularity of this GTM is that it is associated with the railway line which allows you to return by TER to the starting point.
The Nièvre is a true paradise for bike enthusiasts. You will be able to take advantage of one of the 48 cycle tourism circuits which already criss-cross the particularly quiet secondary roads of the department.
Taking advantage of the exceptional network of its canals over more than 160 km, the Nièvre opens its towpaths in cycle route greenway. A gentle practice, without too much effort, to share with the family in complete safety (cars prohibited). Through the Morvan massif you can practice your sport (for the more experienced) on many elevations that will take you through the different landscapes that make up the regional natural park.
These marvelous and intoxicating courses make Nièvre one of the most attractive departments for this practice.
From the campsite we offer you some marked trails and we also lend you maps for the circuits close to the campsite (5/6 kilometers from the campsite).
So lovers of the little queen do not hesitate, come and discover Burgundy Franche Comté, Nièvre, Morvan and our campsite for your stops and your holidays.
